Ace, the image you displayed looks to me like a single elimination tournament bracket, since the field narrows to 8 after the first round, then 4 after the second and so on.

A double elimination tournament would look something like this

Correct, all advance out of round robin, but the round robin determines the placement in the bracket (plus everyone gets to play more games)

The French/British and Indians still have to have the AI generate orders for them I guess. I hadn't really thought of it until Ace brought it up :)

PM sent to pgr.

As of yesterday, RL prevents me - my PbeM with havi is all I can afford for time.

So, one slot to be filled. I'll be reading the forum and posting, but need to attend to RL.

Gives me someone to root for - my Esteemed Opponent, havi.

Respects and good luck, all.

FYI, I'm not able to PM dobbins1. I get a message that his in-box is full.

Also, my apologies, but I work and then have classes until nine tonight. So I won't be able to start until Wednesday, if that's all right.

New member of the forums. There is a thread about combating spammers. Unfortunately, you are getting caught in the restrictions. You need to post a few more times, and be on the forums for a length of time to open all options.

Ya dobbins1 needs to clear his inbox!
Don't worry too much the timing. I expect folks will talk to their partners and sort out the best times to play. Let's shoot to have pool play wrapped up by May 1.

PGR, how will GS declining the match affect our group. Will you be able to find a replacement?

Forgive my silly questions, but by the "West Canpaign" you mean campaign #8 in the basic game titled, "Sibley's New Mexico Campaign, 1862 early Jan. - 1863 Early Feb. (26 turns) with the latest patch?

By "Historical attrition Max" do you mean all the way to the right? The choices are "Standard", "Historical, for player only" and "Historical, for both the player and AI'?

Thanks!

He means West Campaign 1862 - there is a scenario with this name. It covers the Map from the far West to the Tennessee and Alabama.

I don't seem to have this scenario. IIRC, I have 3 tutorials, the grand campaign, "seeing the elephant", Shiloh, the July 61 campaign and Sibley.

Perhaps I should leave the tournament until I can get up to speed.

The scenario was added by 1.01. patch. Is it not included in patch 1.03.?

Granitestater FelixZ

Wed Mar 19, 2014 8:12 pm

I'm sad to announce that Granitestater has withdrawn from the competition. FelixZ has kindly taken his place. Look to the top of the thread for the updated roster.

Gray Fox does not seem able to find it. Must be a faulty game installation?

Hi,

I'll mail you the scenario then.

Got it! This just proves my personal axiom that you should never do something the first time.

I should be ready tonight and I apologize to my fellow players.
