Thanks for the work guys. Better portraits affect my enjoyment of the game well beyond what I would have expected. RUS looks so much better than when I first got it. Will these be added to the official patch?

Drozdovsky on that photo is still a captain(look at epaulettes) so it is probably a 1916 photo.

I have photos of Markov(at the time of the Ice March):

Orel you need glasses, Drozdovsky has the epaulettes of a major-general on that picture, you can clearly see the zig zags and two stars. Also as you can see on his medals, he wears the Order of St. George 4th degree, which was given to him in 1917. Rank doesn't even matter because you can not see the epaulettes on the new improved portrait.

Also the Markov picture we have now is fine.

We have already found a good quality photo of Krasnov. The one currently in use is from the second world war.

We need to find pictures of people do not have them and get improved versions of the worst quality portraits we have in the game, no need to make the whole portrait be filled with a hat.

Currently portrait used of markov in the game.

I've found a much improved photo of General Wrangels fourth corps commander, Pavel Shatilov in the Revolution Under Siege Scenario.

Image

In late 1918, he joined the volunteer army , was chief of the 1st Cavalry Division in the equestrian corps of General Wrangel . Already 7 January 1919 troops under his command took the city Georgievsk , then they were defeated mineralvodskaya group Red Army occupied and Terek region and Dagestan . In the spring of 1919, General Shatila distinguished himself during the operation in the area of the river Manych ended defeat 30000th red group. Shatila with his division crossed the Manych and struck a decisive blow at the Grand-Ducal. During these battles was made in May 1919, to lieutenant general and appointed commander of the 4th Corps.

Straight from his RU wikipedia, but don't use the picture from the wiki, the one below is of much higher quality.

I said on the photo: not on the picture. On the photo he is still a captain. On the picture they changed the epaulettes to the ones of a General.

I understand, but the photo in the game seems to be from the time when he was a professor in the General Staff Academy before the Great war. But I guess you are right, that doesn't matter.

Is Turkul in the game? I never had him as a military leader.

There are also photos of Denikin, Kutepov, Mamontov and Mai-Maievsky without a hat, would they be of any interest?

I don't know, because i can not access the spawn list of Southern White Russian generals. IMHO Turkul should spawn in 1920 as a division commander, Ivan Barbovich should also spawn in December 1919 as a cavalry division commander. Because before their promotions they were regimental or brigade commanders.

I have never had Turkul as a division commander. And he is not on the list(checked).

The photo of Barbovich I think is already in use in the game.

Thanks Pat, I kind of doubt them going official any time soon since we just left beta but it would be nice.. maybe if we get enough done. this reminds me of when so many of us worked on OneArmedMexican's MOD.

I will try to work on more images later today or tomorrow. Some that have been posted will replace real eye-sores.

The last list of needed images was in post 83...but it has not been updated; many have been done since.

again Good work... Since we have several images now, I think it will be better to post the completed sets together as opposed to a few here and there. (I also have the Red images from that thread.) This may take a few days but as long as we keep getting better images I'll keep making them. :-)

Lodilefty: Any chance you could add Barbovitch, Turkul and Zaev to the database? Barbovitch and Turkul got promoted to Major General in 1920 and served as Division commanders under Wrangel's Crimea-Azov army. Zaev was already a rear admiral when the civil war started and should be added to the southern whites Black Sea Fleet.

Hi all,

Here are IMHO the improved leader Graphics form the recent posts. (Special thanks To Wijse and Orel)

RUS Image Update 11-12.zip
(526.21 KiB) Downloaded 253 times

unzip the attached zip file and place:

the individual Unit files in the RUS/Graphics/Units/ Leader Units folder. (You do not have to use all; You can use only the ones you like!)

the individual Army Files in the RUS/Graphics/Armies&Fleets/Leader Armies. (again you can use only images you like)

place the 2 individual mdl files into RUS/Gamedata/Models folder.... Then delete the File named 'Models.cached'. A new version of this file will be created the next time the game is started. Enjoy!
