Thx for the answer, yellow ribbon. I got that much from the DB, too.

However, I am well into 1860 and still cannot build SIB units. That's whay I was wondering if anyone actually build them, since several people are playing Russia, as shown by this thread, too. ;)

have you already researched "RI_Breech_Loaded_Rifles" even to get the normal 1870 infantry.

its supposed to be available in 1860 i remember , with additional funds needs 3-5 years to be research. thus earliest day to see them is on the brink of 1864

so, as far i remember there will not be a certain date, but depending on your progress in 1860s

additionally Siberia has to be totally under your control as a colony, and the units will only pop up in the menu for the ethnic group Siberia.

i used to play Russia while waiting for the next patch fixing trouble with the GC USA, so i am not writing totally out of the blue :indien:
...not paid by AGEOD.
however, prone to throw them into disarray.

Not yet. Do you still need it for cavalry, also? Beacuse only Siberian cav units have 1860 models.

I would not have dared even to assume otherwise :-) Thanks for your help - again.

1870 cav. needs "RI_Military_Staff_System" also set free for research in 1860.

help me out, cant see RSI Cav. 1860,

only RUS cav. and RCO cav. are 1860 models.

RCO are Cossacks and i remember a remark in the DB that in early game cossacks represent the additional cav. brigades available for Russia in the set up for the 1850 GC

deriving it from the British 1860 cav. units (light cav.), "RI_Muzzle_Loaded_Rifles" will lead to upgrades. its a 1850s technology, you should have been able to upgrade them already...

from the VGN_Models_DB_37h file:

RSI_Cav1860_Lit11 mdl_RSI_Cav1860_Lit11 RSI Light Cavalry Regiment (Sib)
RSI_Cav1890_Lit12 mdl_RSI_Cav1890_Lit12 RSI Light Cavalry Regiment (Sib)

yeah, now i see it, column Q, models type within the unit.

its supposed to describe the models of elements IN the unit. I see it, yes, but availability and technology are connected to the alias.

the models type just does mean they are technologically backward.

so in this case, you have to develop a 1860s technology, the equipment is 1860s stuff, the unit is labeled 1870 cav. however, to simulate the upgrade path.

now it will depend of the rest of the tactical unit, HQ, stats/range, attached artillery to make any difference
