Just downloaded the game installed it and I think it polled an authentication server - is the game copy protected in this way?

did Zonealarm or Norton Internet Security flag a DNSname type request ?

software querying for the Computer Name from the operating system can cause this type of event

Yes I did get a warning. But I don't think it does because I de-installed and re-installed without being connected to the Internet, so I am assuming that's OK. Otherwise I would have bought the CD version.

Very interesting game so far.
