Type of computer needed to run ROP...

Sat Feb 20, 2010 8:42 pm

Hi everybody,

It is not without a bit of pride that I'm pleased to announce that...

Rise of Prussia can run on a netbook !!

Well, it is a bit cramped actually, but it is definitively playable, with zoom out working nice, music and everything. Turn processing asked for 45 seconds for the 'Saxony Invasion' scenario. :mdr:

The Netbook used for this test is not even a top end one, on the contrary... It is a Compaq Mini-10, with 1 giga of RAM, shared with the low-end graphic controller. CPU is an Atom N-270.

I specifically bought a 12" netbook to play AACW. I'm very happy that ROP will work on it too.

I was worried if my poor old laptop could handle RoP. Its specs: 1,6GHz Celeron, 1,5 GB RAM and integrated ATI xpress 200M graphics. After trying the demo, it seems to run notably better than WiA. Map scrolling is somewhat clumsy, but the game is far from unplayable.
