Where's George?

Thu Feb 18, 2010 2:12 am

Does George Washington leave in 1781? He was commanding the Continental Army and now he doesn't exist and the CA is now Lee's Army. I'm playing 1778 Full Campaign.

Check for battle reports indicating death.

No event removes him.

I lost him once. And in the game I'm playing PBEM now, my opponent lost Sir William Howe. Equal time for C-in-Cs. :)

I don't recall seeing any messages about his demise. Is there a way to check back? It looks like I have 24 turns worth of backups in the save folder. I checked the four files in the log folder; it isn't in there.

Only thing to do is search the .hst file in each backup subfolder for George Washington [open files with a text editor like NotePad]. The last one he appears will at least tell you when he disappeared.... then you have to backup to that turn to see messages. Make a copy of the saved game before you do any of this, so you can then use the copy to resume your game....
