Bribes to the Colonials

Fri Mar 06, 2009 8:15 am

OK, I have been playing this game now for 1 week. What I think I would like to see is some 'the not so loyal" Colonial generals taking bribes..for possible info or to to change sides. This happened to the Grestest General of the war General Benadict Arnold.
Also many officers in the Colonial army would fratinize with the enemy.
Also the Colonial Army in around 1780 was in shambles. General Rochembue was quoted in saying 'they have nothing not even a coin, Washingtons army grows and shrinks daily sometimes he claims he has 10,000 some days 2,000, send men, material and money and dont count on these people for anything"
So I think such a poor wreched bunch would be just like Arnold would go to the Bitish for the right price..BTW Arnolds actions was alot of money then about 10 million dollars in modern bucks. I would have done the same thing if I were Arnold!

Glad to see your honor and integrity. :)

Wow, "interesting" first post  ;)
If you like bribing armies i "recommend" you Rome Total War. ;) You can buy all the enemies armies for the right price
Not that it's much fun, but you can...
On WIA, Arnold's change of sides is represent by an event. :coeurs:
About the rest... well, i'm not an expert on the AWI but seems highly unlikely to me that British could have "bought" the continental army :bonk:
Regards!

OK, I am upset, I am the British 1775 Grand, its now 1778 and the tide is turning towards the Americans..Gentleman Jonny lost his entire army comming down from Canada..I want to start bribing the great general Arnold..I would like his to surrunder West point and the 2 regiments there to me. "As historically was the plan". I also need Arnold on my side..my plan is to send him down to virginia and take Richmond and wreck havoc in the south.
I need Arnold now..Why cant I get him in 1778? I would also like to have Charles Lee who also wasnt so loyal to the Colonial cause.
BTW is it possible to capture Sam Adms and John Adams? I'd like to get those two!

Nope, you have great leaders, just use them properly and train some tory militia into continentals.
Be sure that you have the right commanders in charge of your stacks and you will do fine. Also don't forget to leave units guarding your occupied cities to prevent the rebels from "liberating" them.
I am now in the year 1780 and the rebels are still holding Pittsburgh which is hard to occupy as a last objective. All the mayor cities and the cost are firmly in my hands and guarded as I have plenty of troops and EPs which could probably change with the community mod ;)
