Depots and Athena

If you play with the option "hardened attrition for player only", does it mean that the AI can get replacements for its incomplete units if they are in any region with a structure? They don't have to be with a depot?
The reason I'm asking is that I'm playing AWI, latest patch and com mod, Brits. Have got into early 1779 and have just noticed the Rebs have NO depots. They had one in Charleston but I captured that. If they don't need depots to recieve replacements then its not a problem, if they do then it is. I'm guessing they don't.
Found it strange that none of their centres, Albany, New York, Richmond, Philadelphia etc had a depot, or has Athena destroyed them to stop my Redcoats getting them?

Yes, if you choose that option the AI will play with the standard rules: she can get replacements on a structure without a depot.
I think using hardened attrition for the Ai also can be too big a handicap for her

About Ai destroying depots, on some previous versions of the game engine (on WIA and also on AACW and probably NCP) the Ai had the bad habit of destroying her own depots
This was supposedly fixed by Pocus on one of the latest patches.
If you see some concrete strange depot auto destruction by the AI i think it would be useful that you reported this with a save game so AGEOD could check it.

On the other side, it can be intended that an Ai garrison blow off one of her depots or forts before you take it by assault. There is an Ai rule called Scorched earth for it.

But if the Ai is voluntarily destroying her own depots safe behind her lines, this is definitely a bug.

Without hardened attrition, units can regain elements [missing components] in a level 2 or higher city.

Current scorched earth parameters are not set to burn depots, but a 'raider' might still do it if the depot was undefended.

I'd need a saved game to look at the depot question.

Not all objectives or Strategic cities have depots, but in the 75 Campaign USA starts with depots at Philadelphia, Albany, Pittsburg and Charleston. The 76 Campaign starts with USA depots at "The Heights" [Dorchester], Albany, New York, Philadelphia and Charleston.

Here are the last few turns with the lack of depots. Couldn't zip whole Saves folder to send, too big for attachments here or my web mail. I haven't sent raiders anywhere new Albany, Philadelphia etc. I did beseige Philadelphia for a few turns but had noticed lack of a depot before this. Perhaps the depot in the Heights should be "placed" there for the 1775 campaign as well as the 1776 one. It might enable the AI to maintain a larger blocking force on Boston for longer than it does at the moment.

There are no depots as far back as your saves go

Will refer this to the beta team.. Truly strange.

In case it can be of any help. On the 1755 the AI Frenchs don't auto burn their own depots. I have been able to capture intact the forts and depots of Ft Duquesne and Ft Niagara recently

If you are using the pre-beta executable, this is good news! The 'scorched earth' function has been improved....
