If you hit the F5 key, you have the same problem? No WW1QUICKSAVE.SAV file?

The savegame "trick" is going to be fixed... I do not know if I'm able to do it for tonight, but it's scheduled for fix for sure! eh eh.. no tricks!

But for the other limit, you probably do not know (manual missing arghhh!) the limits of 4 RPs spending per main army, 2 for normal armies, 2 per GHQ, and 2 all over the map. ;)

Some more issues to be addressed:
1. Munition production of major nations still limited to a minimum, independent of what you set by the respective slider.

2. Grand Offensive somehow stuck after the year ends (1915), so that I couldn't order a new GO in the following year (1916). I had to 'hack' the save (keyword BeginMainOffensive) to be able to plan a new GO in 1916. I did not order it to be stopped/abandoned in 1915 and in 1916 I no longer got the option to do so (button disabled).

Not bugs, but things that offer some room for enhancement:
3. Gameplay tweak: In various phases AI commands are executed immediatly, allowing the player to react to it (e.g. redeployment).

4. AI 'tweak': AI tendancy to stack most/all its HQs in one region in Redeployment phase.

5. Some information currently not saved and thus lost/redone when restarted, e.g. out of supply, RP spending, AI orders (e.g. redeployment redone), <instert others here as you find them>

I get as the allies in the GC several sieges in which I'm both the defender and the attacker. Screenshot below!

The event with Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk don't seem to be playable, it is blackened but when I try to to click on it, nothing happens it is a bit like it is really greyed out. I have tried to click on it during the event, diplomacy and military phases and nothing happens.

So far other events have worked for me so it isn't something wrong with the entire event system at least.

forgot to write I use patch 1.04e.

I fixed a bug in the "EC_DateCheck" event play condition, that affects a lot of events. So with the new patch (incoming) 1.04f, a lot of events will become playable.

For what concerns Masaryk, the condition is:

; Conditions
BeginCondition
Type=EC_DateCheck
Parameters=1,1917,Start
EndCondition

So it means it cannot be played before 1917. Which is your current year of play? ;)

I was able to choose it already in 1914, I don't remember exactly what month. Maybe change the time when it can be chosen and put in your deck.

This cannot be done with the current version of the game... :(
But this is a good suggestion. Thanks. ;)

Ah I worked out what's wrong.

I was hitting the enter key instead of clicking the check to save. It was going through the same screens but not saving when you just hit enter.

Doing it the other way (as intended) svaes game.

Now i can get back to playing and saving. :)

Yes, if you hit enter on the save game screen it looks like it is saving but it doesn't. I found this out when I knew I was saving over a name that already exists and it didn't give me the normal message to override the other file. It's something that is deceptive as it appears it is saving from the display.

Should be easy fix for Calvinus.

Yes, scheduled for fix. Indeed it's not a bug, but a WAD. It comes from the old engine of Great Invasions. The testing company reported the save on Enter key as a "bug"...

Calvinus, the new patch is running great on my end, I played several hours and came across only 2 minor glitches so far:
1.The event timer slider keeps resetting itself after I close the menu screen,I set it for 10 minutes, but next time I look the slider is back on the fast side.
2. When I get a HQ as reinforcement, and the starting city is enemy controlled,(ex,German 13th army at Strasbourg)When I place the HQ comes on unsupplied and remains that way.
Otherwise I think it is really starting to shine!
Thanks

Ok, easy to fix... surely I missed something in the validation.

So you mean "placed" reinforcements... Ok, I will check this asap.

Thanks!

Hi calvinus, let me try to clarify:
I am talking about the scheduled HQs' that arrive in a city.(posen,straasbourg,etc). If the city is occupied by the enemy on the turn of arrival, the HQ goes into the reinforcement box for placement, with the advice that the player places the HQ near its' original city. Then when I place the HQ it is out of supply.
I should add that I've only played the central powers and I don't know if the entente suffers this problem.
I included a save game for an example. Look for the German 13th army near Strasbourg. Funny thing is, when you detach corps from the army, they are in supply, just the HQ isn't.
I hope this helps.
Thanks :)

p.s.-in the savegame i have recaptured strasbourg,at the time the HQ came on it was French. :(

Thanks again for the moral support, but these are very little bugs. In terms of fixing time, I mean... Sometimes, in fact, bugs easy to be fixed have a terrible impact on game-play, and viceversa bugs almost impossible to fix have almost no impact.

For example, I was stuck by the complexity of the Enter key problem in the Save-Game window... incredible! After 3 hours, I gave up and I was forced to disable the Enter key in the window.

Tutorial bugs

Sat Dec 13, 2008 10:01 am

Hi Calvinus,

more bugs in the tutorial No.2: The step 22 makes no sense anymore (at least the referral to the siege of Koenigsberg, the army move was changed in one of the earlier steps and there is no more siege of Koenigsberg).

The tutorial window is immovable and covers the reinforcement bar. Can't you move it?

Overall, I think the tutorial is better now.

Ok, I put the correction in step #22 immediately.

The tutorial window can be moved with the right mouse key (dragging). It's written in Tutorial #1, first pages.

Hey Calvinus,

I am still baffled regarding the missing HQs for Germany. It is in the build menu but for some reason the delivery date is always pushed back and when you click on the built button nothing is deducted and nothing happens.

I tried your savegame and the HQ build works...
I click the "Build" button, then I go to the "Builds" tab and I find the scheduled build...

But then how come they are never deployed? I am positive that at first they were scheduled to be done at the end of 1915 and now it says the end of 1916 but I never got them and Im stacking up all the units for the armies

Ok, found the problem. The build order is executed, but there's a display error in the reinforcements box. Fixed. Next patch.
