Farraguts' Command

:bonk: I've played as the Union a dozen times, the full Civil War (114 turns).
I just realized that Farragut has about 40 ships under his command!. Each icon is a blockade flotilla...Doh!..I always correctly read all other elements and Brigades, etc, but for some reason, I always assumed Faragut just had 5 warships and 1 transport, so I always kept all his ships under him.
I now realize the power I've been wasting. I have scrambled to create flotillas for most games I played so far, and never realized I always had a good amount of Naval power to begin with . hehe. Maybe this will help some other knucklehead.......

yeah but if your PvPing...the south could jump him n then where would you be?...When I was playing Jabber, he laid a trap for Faragaut, n im glad I had the extra fire power as Jabber can tell you he thought he had him dead.

As it was Faragaut barely got out alive, any less ships woulda been a watery grave for him.

Not so wasted perhaps...keep the blockade factors high and it will seriously hurt the revenues taken back by csa's runners.

You can use the extra power of those ships (if the % blockade factor is good) to blockade single ports. This means an increased attrition on CSA brigs running out of supply, having to go back to other far, and minor ports...This leads to slower repairing/refilling rates and a higher risk of destruction both from the lack of supply coming from the fact they have to travel back to far distant (and safer) ports or... by the hands of your blockading navy around those ports.

CSA can't defend anywhere, as Lee very well knew and with the Union Navy this is particularly true.
