V1.07e railroad bug?

Thu Oct 11, 2007 11:40 pm

Since I got v1.07e I've noticed that it's no longer possible to travel via railroad through Amherst, VA in 1861 and 1862 campaigns. Tooltip for Amherst says there's only a road there even with map showing railroad. In 1863 and 1864 railroad there is fine. The same thing is for Hanover,VA. Only in latter case it's for duration of war and tooltip says there's a railroad in Hanover.
Is this a bug or this is normal with v1.07e?
No rail in Amherst could be major drawback for CSA.

This is an issue I am very familiar with.
My research has indicated that Amherst really should have the RR as the graphic indicates.

The issue is in the Cities***.inc files which define Amherst as Transport=$Road vs. =$Railroad.
Additionally, the April Campaign.scn file under D=143 (Amherst) defines TransportLvl=2 rather than =3. (I haven't checked any other scenarios).

I've been correcting these in my installation pending the AGEOD team getting past NCP and returning to these issues.

I also sumbled on a 'repair' to a game in progress via editing the save files (by searching for the UD=143 and editing Transportlevel)

Pocus: I have time to edit/correct these types of issues if someone can forward a list to me. I recall that there was some conversaion in the forums about ths research, but I can't find it now...)

I've made the correction using "Vedit". Amherst railroad is fine now. Do you know what is the code for Hanover or it should remain as it is?

Thnx lodilefty!

My pleasure! :sourcil:

I've left any other 'graphics vs transportation' mismatches alone pending the results of the research efforts I alluded to....

FYI, I also always install the "HabourMod" to mod the east coast ports to something more historical. Otherwise the Wilmington, NC area is ugly from the CSA perspective.....

Hi
I am playing the 1862 scenario, v1.07f, and I have edited the .scn file UID 143 from transport level 2 to 3, but still the reilroad in Amvherst, VA doesn´t work! any idea why could be that?
