Victory and National Morale not displayed

Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:29 pm

Strange quirks when I played my first games, tutorial and campaign (April 1861) yesterday. I started and stopped the game a few times, loaded and browsed through every scenario, saved and loaded a few games. Every time the quirks were there.
Today when I continued the same scenario the quriks were gone. I was using the patch today.

Quirks
1: Victory points and National Morale were not displayed in the upper left corner. The box is there with the AACW logo but no "Victory", "Morale" or numbers. It works today.

2: Ecomonics page, the numbers under the train and river boat were missing, today they are there.

3: Main Menu-Options, yesterday the only option tab I had was "Media". today I have Media-Game-AI-System.

TC -I believe the VP/NM thing is due to your DPI settings. Seems I saw this somewhere in the Beta Forum that ACW only supports 96 DPI. Do you know how to check for that condition in Windows?

Yeah, I've always been running at 96 DPI.

If those numbers don't show, it can also be due to the proper fonts not being loaded in the system. I had this issue in the beta, and simply going into the "Fonts" directory in the AACW folder and installing all of the fonts there into windows fixed it up for me.

Sparhv2 is definitively right, and the 3 problems you describe were encountered before: on some rare computers, the font named Edmunds (which is in our font directory) don't register properly. The fix is simple, you have to manually put the file (copy not displace) in your windows fonts directory, and it should works.

I will be moving this thread in the armory forum soon by the way, some users can also have this problem.
