More than Just Password Problem

Fri Nov 25, 2011 12:22 am

In attempting to fix the load/crash problem I posted in the previous thread, I tried a fresh install and then an upgrade to 1.16rc5.

However, there is missing info as the following pics will show. I'm hoping you can explain what I need to do to fix this. Thanks!

Apparently missing some font files or links.

What Operating System?

What files do you have in \ACW\Fonts ???

Have you tried installing RC6 ???

Windows 7

edmunds, jphsl, lalex, oklahoma, saddlebag, windsong ttf plus a text file named edmunds

I did a fresh install then checked and the problem was there. Then I did the RC5. because 6 wasn't out yet.

RC6 fixed the font problems (thanks!) but the problem in my other post still occurs (the problem with the password causing a crash).

Wierd about RC5, but glad RC6 fixed it.

I'm clueless about the password issue. :(
Hopefully The Master will check in....

Hello,

Installed RC7 last night and now have got this same problem with regards to the VP, NM, and other wording not showing up. Otherwise it seems the game runs fine.

Checked my ACW/Fonts and it list the same files as Longshanks stated in Post #3. Also running Win. 7

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

This is wierd.

I'm gonna guess now, so take it for what it's worth:

Run game as Administrator
...if no joy:
Reboot your system.. maybe fonts aren't registering
...if no joy:
Reinstall the patch, running as administrator

..otherwise, I have no cle

Joy!!!

Thanks, for the quick response Lodilefty :)

The system reboot worked. Somehow I didn't even think of that and it turns out to be the easiest fix of all. :bonk:
