Hi everybody,

I'm a new member of the forum...And I specially logged in to tell you about my quite boring problem.

On my old computer on windows XP, the games works properly, even if quite slow. But I have now a new computer, with this super star OS...VISTA.

And since I try to install "American civil war", I always got the same problem : everything freezes, I have to control, to alt, and to suppr, ask for a wonderfull task manager to come and deal with it.

I tried to :
1 - double click on the CD icon.
2 - explore CD and double click on install.
3 - click on CD icon, then click on autorun button.

All of these have the same "results". Is there a possibility to install my game ?
Does someone ever encounter such a problem ? (I've seen some freezing at the end of the installation...that's more that I got yet ^^ )

Thank you in advance for your future help and answers ;)

Vince, from France.

Vince,

It is partly due to the User Account Control settings found in the control panel settings and the other responsible culprit is probably that "virus"(not really) the Windows Media Center. It is a huge resource hog and doesn't speed ANYTHING up! I know your frustration believe me! But I solved most of it with disabling the UAC temporarily while installing the game. Plus this allows you to control where VISTA will store the game files and path to them. i hope this helps.
