Why did Buell move to Fort Donelson? That's a strange place to go.

Yup, that's why Pocus said the AI was sup-optimal. He's planned to work on it the next days so we (betas) should see a noticable improvement in next beat release candidate. Stay tuned. :cwboy:

The move on the other hand is not completely shocking. Buell was crossing toward Grant, so that both armies would move down toward Corinth. Perhaps not the most imaginative plan, but an ok one for an AI.

Well I am sorry but we all have to wait. I hope you like my AAR as I am enjoying doing it. AI is getting better and better every day. With every new patch I am amazed how much work Pocus did. Testing is not hard as game is already so good that I am pissed when I don't have enough free time to play it.
As for men instaed of hearts for strenght - I vote for it and like it much.
Number indicating number of men is a must for me.
Battle honors or stats are also one of the things I asked month ago so I am for that as well. If not for release then for patch.

Godspeed

Do you tailor the AI to specific scenarios or is it the same AI for all of them?

The scenarios objectives are rather easy to analyze for the AI, so this is the same AI for all. For the campaign I'm still undecided if I prepare the way for grand plans or if all is handled generically by the AI (this can cause some 'horizon effect' then).
Grand, long terms plans will need some time to mature though, so I don't think this will comes for release, but as they are a must have for VGN, they will arrives one day in AACW, so that in some rare circumstances the Union AI decides to try the Anaconda Plan, etc. If you have some idea about what alternative strategies can be tried, you can provide me with some input and what would be the deciding factors which would triggers such schemes.

Shouldn't the Union objective be Corinth instead of Memphis? Grant and Buell didn't take part in the campaign against Memphis. That was Pope and the navy.
