Birth of America always crashes after first turn

It always gives me a message, such as "no waypoint for supply asset" and then crashes to desktop. I have installed the latest patch 1.12a. Any ideas whats going on?

Windows Xp
1gig ram
intel 915gm graphics card
Latest directx 9C (0904)

Sure, it is because the serial key used is a pirated one. Any other question?
