[PON] Pride Of Nations - Newbies GC PBEM

Sat Dec 05, 2020 1:54 pm

Hi. I have PON since the release date but I never really managed to play a full game due to its complexity and magnitude. I barely played 50-100 turns in a GC and I definitely consider myself a rookie !

I'd like to start a PBEM with 4 or 5 (or 6) other rookies. (grognards would be bored playing with me, so pls pass). The main rule is: No stress, no lecturing, no shaming ! Just play as you wish and enjoy.

I would be playing France. Just pick your Nation below. First to pick, first served !!

Off-game diplomacy encouraged ! RPG style diplomacy encouraged as much as possible. Other rules and settings to be discussed. I think that a one turn a week minimum is OK.

This is a (very) long term commitment ! NO QUITTERS. We re talking about 1600+ turns to play !! And life is short ... ;-)

Just tell if any interest, :-)

Allan, (a.k.a. nukkxx on Steam and Matrixgames)

I hope you get your game going. This is how I learned PON, with a group of eight players new to PON.
Players thinking about trying pbem or PON or both, should join in. This is a fun game to learn with other.

Thanks. Good to read that you learned the game like this. I'm sure it's fun in PBEM. Because this game is definitely THE top Grand Strategy game ever.
Hope there will be players for a PBEM but so far ... :tournepas
Will see. :-)

Maybe post in the PON line, also. It is more visible to visitors to the forum.

I'm interested. According to Steam I've played it for 12 hours, but last in 2017, and would consider myself a complete newbie.

I'll have to study up a bit on it before deciding on a country.

Excellent, welcome on board ! Let us know your Nation when you pick one ! :-)

BTW my own Steams shows 46 hours but it's over 10 years or so, and sometimes the software left opened idle a whole day :-) As I said, I definitely consider myself a newbie too.

Good choice !

Let's wait for more players.
Regarding the number of turns per week I'm definitely open minded. I just didnt want to scare anybody :-) and I dont have any experience playing PON in PBEM so I have no idea of what is reasonnable, or not. I think early game turns can be faster. Anyway, we'll see once we have all the players.

SO FAR : FRANCE AND GREAT BRITAIN are taken. All other nations available.

I assume like other Ageod games that each player will make the turn, and then send to the gamemaster for execution?

TBH, I have no idea... we will find out and decide the procedure when all the players are registered.
Maybe we can setup a dropbox ?

#gwgardner Hey amigo, maybe you could have a look at here >>>

It's a massive PON PBEM that has already started. It's turn 85 now. And I think you can join if you wish. They keep looking for more players !

I just registered and will play as China. Because it seems it will take a long time before we find other players here. So if you wanna start to play now, have a look at the thread and see if you like it :-)

I think the next turn will be available by tomorrow !

Cheers
