I haven't played a pbem of ACW in a long time, so I'm trying to get back on Traveller (the horse). I'm looking for a CSA opponent in a 1861 Civil war grand campaign /w kentucky scenario. I like playing it historically accurate so I use hard rules and house rules. it makes the game much more challenging.
Settings:
Historical Attrition ON
Standard Naval ON
Redeployments ON 1 per turn
Battle delay: LONG (or medium if preferred)
Normal Foreign
No random generals
Medium activation (penalty in movement and combat if inactive) if interested I also like the hard activation rule.
House rules:
Mobilization:
1.) For the CSA: Part-Mobilization only from Early April 1862 on and Full Mobilization from Late September 1862 on
2.) For the USA: Part-Mobilization from Late July 1862 on and Full Mobilization from Early March 1863 on
If England/France enters the war on CSA side, USA is allowed to Full-Mobilize
CSA can match any USA mobilisation.
Raiders:
For both: In the border states: Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Indian Territory, Arizona Territory can raid with single units.
In "non-border-states" must take at least a leader and 3 units (regiments) to raid.
River/naval movement:
Only support units ( HQ, engineers etc..) and leaders can be moved with the river movement button, otherwise transports must be built to move troops.
Capacity to move armies trough "water highways" without any planning and gathering transports did not exist in the war.
One button is the difference between historical and fantasy.
