Jubal Early

Jubal Early:

201 CSA Jubal A. Early ldr_CSA_Early NULL NULL NULL NULL 2 2 1 28 General 1 NULL 6 2 3

For the most part, I agree with Early's stats....however, I'm curious about a couple of things:

1. I'm not sure about the "strategic" rating of 6...that puts him in the same league as the greats. IMHO that should be dropped to a 5, maybe even a 4.

2. I'd be interested to hear what people think about bumping him up to a 3 for the "offensive" rating (Rolling up the XI corps Day 1 at Gettysburg, Valley campaign of 1864)

3. Maybe a "Fast_Move" trait (its only a 15% bonus). This could be appropriate considering he was at the head of the Confederate column during the Gettysburg campaign, and made it all the way east to the Susquehanna river. He also moved quickly through the Shenandoah in 1864.

4. Maybe a "Plunderer_Pop" trait, considering his actions in York in 1863, and Chambersburg in 1864.

5. "QuickAngered" seems to deal with causing problems from the current command level down.....It would be interesting to have a trait to deal with sparking arguments and controversy from the current command level and on up the chain (Early and D.H. Hill would be good examples)

I'd go with 4|3|2 and fast move. He seemed to do better when attacking. I can see Forager instead of Plunderer. They've said Plunderer is more for people who Quantrill who massacred civilians.

I'd be inclined to 4|3|2 as a division commander (or even 4|3|3) and 5|2|2 as a corps commander--he moved rapidly in the Valley in 1864, but his battle record wasn't particularly impressive. His attack on Sheridan had an impressive start, but ultimately led to his defeat. And getting almost to Washington earlier in the summer is not quite as impressive as taking Washington--I give him the 5 in his strategic rating to reflect his ability to move his corps when he wanted it to move.

I'm not sure I understand giving a higher strategic rating at Corps level than Division....would he have a harder time getting a Division moving than a Corps?
