Ai

Guys,
I've just finished my first full play through of the game as the CSA. I must say that I'm disappointed with the game AI. I can't really say the game against the computer was difficult, in any way.
The US AI failed to blockade (in both games that I started,) failed to do any amphibious landings outside of Virginia. The AI also allowed itself to get bogged down in Kentucky, and never tried to take any river forts or cities.
What is more is the AI put a large army commanded by General Grant (he spent the whole war here) in Tucson. That army could have run havoc in Texas, and taken the whole state. Instead it sat in Tucson, would enter Texas, rip up the railroad in one province, and then return to Tucson.
I am reluctant to change the AI settings to aggressive, as the tooltip suggests that the AI is optimized for normal.
I also don't usually like adjusting the difficulty settings (something strikes me as very annoying when one brigade defeats an entire army of mine on the hard settings of other games.)
Do you guys have any suggestions about increasing the AI's performance? Will setting the AI on aggressive improve the AIs performance?
Thanks,
-Scott
