So I've held Virginia south of Alexandria -- whipping Grant with 10:1 and 20:1 casualty rates twice in a row -- and re-taking Winchester. Held Petersburg, have Ft. Monroe in hand and Longstreet shattered 3 full Union corps on the Peninsula (no, they didn't evacuate, either; they ended up Matthew Brady subjects). Annhilated all comers in the Carolinas and Georgia. Turned Sherman back, destroying a fat Rosecrans-led wing in the process. Now I've got a working depot in Rome and have Chattanooga invested. Re-conquered New Orleans and am cutting a path back up the Mississippi. Texas is all mine and I'm re-taking Indian villages. So why the hell is Lincoln getting re-elected?!?!? Might as well re-elect Bush for 'winning' Iraq :tournepas did I say that?

Well, it is a game after all. If the Union morale doesn't sink below 40 then they will fight on.

Capturing Washington should sink him.

the point of it all

Sure, sure, i get that -- I guess my question should really be: what does it take to cost Lincoln the election in 1864? I mean, I can certainly wear them down and be in DC by Xmas. But why aren't the Democrats prepping for their Inaugural?
