Dear players,

This patch is still in the making. Given the amount of changes we are doing these days, some can have ripple effects into AACW, so don't download it. Courageous testers & modders can try it before hand :niark:

1.07f
fixed: Synchronize move had a bug when numerous corps were involved.
fixed: Cities had some missing bullets indicators.
fixed: Prisoners exchange message was not displayed properly.
fixed: Music display name was erronenous.
added: Battle Report: Generals are sorted by rank then seniority. Elements are sorted by descending number.
chged: AI buy more replacements.

We have a 'paid volunteer' on it, although the pay is a bit meager (lets be honest) for the amount of work (this is more a compensation that anything else). So for now he is the one in charge of the job. I think a batch of new portraits are nearly done though.

About the patch: this is a quick patch. Even in this pre-release period of Napoleon, I will patch and fix any identified and reproducible bug in ACW. You can count on me for that. For the rest, ie recreating scenarios with more accurates data, I just don't have time before the release of our new game. Thanks for your understanding.

I need also a bit of feedback from an handful of players about this quickfix. Is it ok? Can it go official? We have now only 3-4 active AACW beta testers, so we must rely on players for that too. Again, thanks for your understanding about the situation. Small studio, size does matter ;)

Does this v1.07f contain the recent linkage fixes from "batch 3"?

Also, what is the status of the ExMaps' Standard (No RR) Map, the one that was corrupted?

I downloaded it and made a quick check of the fort garrisons -- both in a previously saved game [under 1.07e] and a fresh start. It appears fleets in fort ports are showing, but still not the land forces. Blue lights on; green lights off.

1. not yet, but I plan to add them.

2. I answered that I contacted Sandra about that.

Pocus.

Will check that, thanks.

Could I get them for my mod? It would be painful to cross-check all changes made...

Regards,

Clovis

I am curious which file contains that particular fix?

I have the same problem as Clovis.

Disregard my previous notes, weather tags appear to be fine and randomized on restart.

When I start the Apr '61 campaign, the focus is in the midwest instead of Fort Sumter.

On the splash screen, the version 1.07f is off the right edge of the screen, it cuts off the 'f'

So far everything is basically looking good playwise with no major issues.

So far, working rather well.

I noticed time to launch the game has slighty increased but I feel turn computation to be slighty faster.

Now, for bugs....I've yet to play more...

I am not noticing anything different in the Battle Reports. What am I looking for?

The game does have a different loading procedure ... I see AGE 2.0 loading, then data in 3 stages, etc. It does say 1.07f on my screen.

Music display is fine now.

Still missing those green light in the forts. All forts appear to be vacant, though they are not.

Bug?

Noticed this:

I think this happens only with units in garrison within towns. If you try to merge a unit outside the town with the unit inside, you can't! You have to merge the inside units with those outside. Doing so, causes the inside unit to lose its entrenchment level. You then have do drop the newly formed stack inside to start entrenching again. If more units are added later, the process repeats ... always having to begin entrenching all over again. Not good! Especially if enemy units are nearby!!

I don't think this is affecting units merged when both are outside of towns.

This temporary update v1.07f does not seem to contain any of my recent fixes, nor the harbor mod .rgn changes, so I am baffled as to what it actually contains?

Is it just a "code only" update for the time being?

My guess is that it contains (which unfortunately doesn't appear to list your changes, maybe next time???):

1.07f
fixed: Synchronize move had a bug when numerous corps were involved.
fixed: Cities had some missing bullets indicators.
fixed: Prisoners exchange message was not displayed properly.

Perhaps an easy quick fix on a color-code map bug.
Forgot its name but it's easy to locate as this PA region borders with WV, N of Harper's Ferry. Hit the Filter by State button:

WV -> Green
PA -> Brown
MD -> Light Blue
This region (PA) -> Light Blue (should be Brown)

I hope tests proved good....i didn't install it bc i'm not "corageous" so i'm waiting for 1.07f patch to go official :)

Uhm well i spotted also a strange happening and i can confirm it finally because it has repeated. Lawrence (KS) appears to have no garrison but my indian Stand Watie and his 3 Cherokee units can't seem to capture it. First turn i was in Offensive and city didnt change ownership. Second turn i was in Assault posture and city is still USA.

Are there restrictions with indian units capturing cities? They can only capture indian villages? They can only capture settlements in the indian territory?

first you don't see them because some of the green lights are missing. Second point, yes. Irregulars like Indians can't capture most of the structures but if they take it, they should burn it. This is a copycat of the BOA rule here.

Patch 1.07f updated (same link), here is the new readme. I hope it can go official if nobody spot a major issue.

1.07f
fixed: Synchronize move had a bug when numerous corps were involved.
fixed: Cities had some missing bullets indicators.
fixed: Prisoners exchange message was not displayed properly.
fixed: Music display name was erronenous.
added: Battle Report: Generals are sorted by rank then seniority. Elements are sorted by descending number.
improved: AI buys more replacements.
improved: AI uses the Rail Pool better.
improved: AI uses forced march much more often (if it makes sense).
improved: AI defends regions more often if possible.
added: Idle Leaders can now gather to big stacks, using the relocate rule.
improved: AI create divisions faster.

Harbors fixes from Chris Hobbes (one of our most veteran tester) and PBoeye (did major research work on the railnet). Harbor mod remove some ahistorical exit points from harbors.
Improved graphics around the Erie canal (Gray_Lensman). Further removal of linking discrepancies on the map (Gray_Lensman).

Modding:
fixed: ChangeActorPool command had a bug.

In regards to the graphics area around Regions 34,35,36, and 38, it seems the edited .rgn files made it into the v1.07f update without the accompanying graphics (.bmp) files. This is currently causing a graphics display bug for the 38 Centre PA region. I'm sure Pocus will remedy this quickly and place the files below into the v1.07f update. He's rather busy with NCP, so have patience.

The following .ZIP file contains the missing (.bmp) graphics files. Just download and unzip them into the ...ACW/Graphics/Regions folder. NOTE: Be sure it is the ...ACW/Graphics/Regions folder and NOT the ...ACW/Gamedata/Regions folder.

Also in regards to the April 1861 and July 1861 scenarios, some of the TransportLvl corrections have not been placed in the associated database files in order to implement these corrections.

Below is a .ZIP file (April-July-1861 Scenarios v1.07f Temp fixes.zip) which contains a temp fix for each of these scenario (.scn) files. Just unzip them into the ...ACW/Scens folder replacing the files of the same name. At some point in the future the associated database files will be corrected and then the scenarios will be properly generated for another update.

Also below is a TranportLvl Errors.zip file which contains a listing of the incorrect TransportLvl and the associated UID entry in the .scn files.

An omission right, this will be fixed for the official release of 1.07f

This is normal, in the sense that I said I would have no time for the scenarios re-creation until the release of Napoleon. I add your tweaked campaigns to the patch though as a temporary fix.
