National Morale

Hi folks, myself and Gene are into the 3rd year of war and we are both surprised by sharp changes in both National Morale and the levels of NM needed to win the game. Gene ended 1863 needing 185 to win now suddenly he needs 225. My requirements as CSA went from 200 to 175 in the same period even though my actual morale dropped from 104 to 89.
We have no idea why these changes are happening and they are pretty important to the outcome of the game.
For something as important as this I would hope the game would show why NM has changed so much.
Cheers, Chris

I'm under the impression that as the game goes on, it gets easier for the CSA to win by the morale threshold, and harder for the USA to do the same. Thus, the CSA can win simply by dragging the war into 1865 and keeping morale up to a decent level.

I agree, but I assume events cause the drops in morale. It would be nice if this was made a bit clearer on the event description.

I see. I've never experienced a 15 point drop in NM that I couldn't explain.

I just realised if you put your cursor on an event line a tooltip tells you what you gain and lose! I have always just clicked on them and read the event.

I just discovered this myself not too long ago after many, many hours of playing.
