I understand that railroads not utilized for army transport are then used for supply transportation. My question relates to how much is enough related to excess train capacity. In my current games, I rarely get over 2/3 of train capacity. I never get 100% of the optimal train capacity. Is that okay? What are the pros of having 100% of your train capacity and what is the impact of having less than 100%?

The supply phase is split in three segment. In each segment supply can be pushed up to 5 regions away from a stock to a destination (and each nation has several dozens of stocks to move to needing destinations).

So if you have 2/3 and not 3/3, the last segment will be done by chariot and not rail, this translate too a slightly less optimal distribution compared to a full capacity. Still 2/3 is really good.

So strictly speaking it's really whether you have 0, 1/3, 2/3 or all of the rail/river capacity spre that is important rather than the precise numbers (ie if rail capicity is 250/300 then it will still only be as effective as at 200/300). If that's the case then getting to the relative cut off points is more a priority than actually raising the numbers in general.

In French, the word for wagon is chariot. I think that Pocus and the rest of the AGEOD team do an excellent job working in English. A small error is no big thing.

The translation gaffe seems to bring new meaning to the old song words of "Swing Low Sweet Chariot". I guess that would be translated as "Swing Low Sweet Supply Wagon" at AGEOD.

Yeah, funny as people who doesnt speak any other language than english are laughing at people making little mistakes who worked hard learning english and make the effort to talk to them in english. To them I say, try to talk to me in french if you are so smart. Usually they are not smart enough to speak any other language than english

Not trying to be a junior-mod here (well, no more than a tiny little bit of a J-M, at least ), but shouldn't it be up to Pocus himself to decide wether he feels offended by cheap shots at his little mis-use of "chariot" and, if he is, to express said offense himself, too?

No offense (pun intended), people, but I'm not a native english speaker myself and have done my own share of butchering the language (and still do ), too. And I've got fair my share of leg pulling about it from native english speakers, all in good humour. I never felt compelled to take offense, though, or even point out that my teasers, unlike myself, are allegedly "not smart enough" to master any other language than their own...

I really do not see where the strong resentment against the quips above comes from or why it is seemingly a hot button issue for some people. IMHO, such little pieces of friendly bantering, regardless of the occasion, are one of the things that make this board such an enjoyable place. Let's not start a "French & English Boardwar" about this, please...

Hmm, id say be happy, be very very happy you have all this feedback from the devs ragarding questions...even if the translation isnt always correct. I have met many Americans that I couldnt understand so again lets be greatful we have feedback in english period.
