3-1-1 Generals Union

Each year, the Union player (as does the CSA player) receives a collection of mostly 1* and some 2* generals in Washington DC. These generals have for the most part ratings of 3-1-1. The player leaves some in the east and ships others to western locations in order to build divisions and corps.
As the units are mostly rated equally, the selection of which ones to ship westwards and which ones to keep in the east, is arbitrary. I decided to research where the generals were in reality assigned and then deploy them in the game historically.
In terms of game play, I was pleasantly surprised that in my game the split between eastern, western and Missouri generals worked very well. It was as if the selection was designed this way (and perhaps it was).
I have listed the generals by year and location in the following three posts. I have only done up through 1863 as beyond this point there probably is not much point or interest.
If there is enough interest in the community, it would be easy to patch this. For example, western generals would be assigned to either Cairo or Cincinnati and Missouri generals to St Louis.
