Fun playing 1.06d and randomised generals

Sun Jul 31, 2016 10:25 pm

Got Washington as Rebs and Richmond as Federals in the seeing the elephant scenario.

1.06d was the version that came in box with CD and manual.

I know a lot of changes have happened since to make it more realistic but this is more fun than playing 1.17 and getting draws all the time.

Well I've been whiling away time again this New Year comparing the Shiloh scenario on 1.06d, 1.17 and with CW2.

Big differences - I got mostly victories by points as the rebels with 1.06, but mostly defeats on 1.17 and CW2. This was doing a defensive "come and get us approach."

For anybody who hasn't got this game I still think it worthwhile even though I only play the short scenarios.
