1.05 oddities...

1) first in winter 1862 the CSA receives 5 or 6 ,1* generals in Richmond, none of whom I have ever heard of and they don appear on the leader profile/ arrival schedule we received several weeks ago. Is this intentional and something new that was put into 1.05? They are in addition to the known ones we receive anyway and to be honest I'm kind of swamped with generals after this happens.

2) For the last two turns I receive a message that says "unknown event number 124". I just had never seen this before and thought it may be a bug of some sort.

The new leaders are ones who have been in the game for a while, but were never actually on the game map. If you play the Union, you'll get even more of these "generic" leaders. Even though they are not generic, but real generals.

That usually means a string file error. An event is triggered but probably something wrong/missing with the event text in the string file. Someone will need to look at the files and find out what is missing/wrong. So yes, a bug.

Playing the 1862 Campaign Game, as CSA, version 1.05, I also get the "Unknown Event Type 124" message, as a pair in the "Mail Box," each turn...

the leaders are expected, this is to compensate the fact you have to put a leader in each division now.

Event 124 happens when you don't have enough assets to pay for a division (for example you only have 15 war supply but create 10 divisions, the button will be enabled for each one, but in the end you can have a lack of resources, especially if you buy a lot of things)

If I may be so bold, I would suggest that maybe you should do something that prevents the showing of this kind of message (either something generic, such as "not all divisions could be created", or even nothing), as the usual Windows player tends to become somewhat annoyed by "unknown events" :siffle:

huhu, I was not clear enough. It is abnormal that you get this text, it should have been translated into something understandable. I have to understand why it shows like that.

It seems that the effect of the unknown 124 is that you lose the forces you have ordered in excess of your means (supplies, money, conscripts) but do not get refunded !!!

Very odd

from 1.04 onwards, playing as CSA, I consistently get union generals (a stack of them in some cases, but atleast Wallace and Keyes) wandering around in Richmond in May 1861 (obviously playing the April '61 campaign).

Anyone else getting this? It hasn't had any major impact yet, but if I managed to catch them, it would hurt the AIs ability to organize its forces.

Need a screenie?

I "believe" this was corrected in a later patch, are you using the most up to date release?

I think what he's describing is the ai using a stack of 2 generals with no military units as "recon" units. I'm seeing this as well at times.

They can be in transit toward Hampton road perhaps, I don't think this is really a recon.

Using most recent update. Not worried about recon so much as impact on AI of me nabbing these guys.

Another odd event is building a unit (seems to be artillery more than any other -- will watch for trend) and it cannot be merged with any units. When I try, it has a line to move to some other county. Seems to happen with CSA once per game ... will gather more info and pass along.
