Anybody won the "Seeing the Elephant" scenario as the Confederates in 1.17a?

I've just played it about ten or twenty times and can't get anywhere near a victory.

Any hints for someone who is clearly still a noob after several years.

Well I loaded up my 1.06d version that came in the box and after three goes got a complete victory as the Confederates including taking Washington.

Honour satisfied.

And I got a victory taking Washington in Civil War 2 as well, although I can't repeat it. Honour satisfied again.

Kinda quiet round here these days though, everybody playing with their shiny new CW2 and its wavy flags.

But I can't do it in patch 1.03 for CW2.

I sometimes get the feeling that the more realism is built in the less fun there remains in games.

Well I tried this a few times on Colonel difficulty setting with the latest patch. The first turn, I just send IIRC Johnston's stack on Assault right at D.C. through Fulton VA and Montgomery MD. Even when I am told that I lost the battle, the bluebellies withdraw before Honest Abe can grab his hat. Game over on turn 2.
