Foreign Intervention?

Tue Sep 17, 2013 4:06 pm

As the CSA is it a game changer if you get it early in the game? I have had some really good rolls and following the trent affair I am in Dec 1861 with intervention at 85. Waiting for my turn to come back to see if my cotton embargo, which had a 65% chance of success ranging from 11 to 22 points worked in my favor. If so I could have foreign support by the time the first snows melt of 1862.

So I am wondering how early is the earliest anyone has seen intervention and is the support as good as I am hoping it will be to cause an early victory?

In the beta testing, I once had it in early Jan 1862. At that piont, the British army was a work in process, so no help from them at that time.

Well I just hit 100 in my favor at early jan 1862. It is the first time me and my pbem opponent has seen it happen. Has been an interesting game so far. A bit of a stalemate. Will be interesting since we have a rule where I can not do partial mobilization until march of 82 and him until sept of 82. I may turn this into an AAR now...

I know I would be very interested to know what the British do to aid you in your quest.

One think about our rules, if I remember right, we have this in

If England/France enters the war on CSA Side the Northern Player is allowed to "Full-Mobilize" CSA can match any USA mobilize if they do.

Will have more updates to get people up to speed through 1861

I got FI in early 1862 once. It definitely helps. Use them as garrisons. They can't sustain heavy combat due to replacement issues.

Will have some post of the first few turns up in the coming days. Since this is a currently running game and my opponet also wants to see what happens with intervention I will keep the post a few turns behind our current game. Side note and warning to other CSA players close to intervention, Mexico joins the USA without declaring war on you :cursing:

I have never gotten a foreign intervention without changing some of the files. So I'd say that's pretty neat.
