A comment concerning the map

From the aar thread and posted here instead.

I have to be honest here. A lot of the provinces are hard to distinguish from one another, especially where rivers are concerned. i.e. the start of the rivers don't quite reach the boundary of neighboring provinces. Some I really can't tell where one ends and the other begins.

Is there some kind of overlay that can be toggled that better displays boundary lines?

Please, not everyone at once. One at a time with those answers. :siffle:

Is this forum a bit stale or is it that my question/comment not worthy of reply. Or maybe everyone is just plain busy.....

I'll check back in a few days I guess.

Hi and welcome
Too some amount I agree with you. The map feels a bit cluttered at times but I think it's something we all will get used to after some playing.
In BoA and I'm pretty sure also in AACW there are some map overlayes like controll, supply and loyalty that sort of soften the details of the map and thereby make it somewhat easier too distinguish between provinces.
They are for quick reference though and not thought too be used for continuous play (at least that's my opinion).

Hi Honky,

As stated in the AAR, the Map is still a work under progress. We are aware of the the problem you mentioned with some rivers, and Sandra is working on it.

Sorry for not having answered sooner, we are a small team and we can easily be overcrowded when too much affluence in the forum.

Thank you for your input,

best,

Korrigan

There is 6 filters that overlay on the map, they enable you to see more clearly the things you are currently focusing on.

Note also that some of the drawing on the map are yet to be removed, for example all cities drawn on the map which are in a region with a city sprite, etc. In the end it should look less cluttered.

Honkry Tonk, I think if AACW is like BoA, then this is not to be worried about too much. When you are in the game, as you move your cursor around the map, the province under the cursor "lights up", and it is easy to tell the borders. I kind of like the borders being this subtle. Gives the map a "Pristine" feel to it.
