officer/troop POW exchanges?

I have not seen this (but have only played lightly so far) but is there
an exchange program (that can be cancelled or altered by either player
or AI) that allows the exchanges of captured officers and troops?

A POW exchange option does pop up later in the war; both sides must click it to work, but I've never been in a situation to benefit. Officers don't get captured

thanks for the info! One reason I ask is when I was recently reading I found out my wife's ancestor (Union General John Reynolds) was actually captured
earlier in the war and exchanged. Would be interesting to see that in the
game as well. Two edged sword in his case being exchanged back into the
war....
