Is it really true that a single U.S. Marine unit gives the river-crossing benefit to the entire stack it's in? For instance, an entire corps?

Hi Rexor! :)

Yes, it is true. This ability (Pontoneer) provides a 50% speed bonus to the whole stack which this unit is in, when crossing rivers.

Check out this excellent list made by Evren...

Thanks, Ethan. I thought so, I just wanted to be sure. And to think I was concentrating my Marines in one division!

I've been working my butt off for months in the real world, and haven't had a chance to play AACW, which I still think measures up as one of the finest war games ever. Looking forward to it now....

I do not play for 8 months. But I always try to put a Marine or a sailor in each division because sometimes you need to move a division or several divisions of some Corp for some independent missions and then that division/these divisions will not have the benefit of a pontoneer.

Trust me. I think it is worth! ;)
