Amphibious landings / enemy fleets

Does the presence of enemy fleets in the same sea zone have any effect on amphibious landings? If so, does posture make a difference? Strength? Thanks. :)

Not necessarily, however, if the enemy ships are able to engage your fleet while your land forces are disembarking their move will be aborted and they will remain on board the ships.

Regardless of strengths? So a single Confederate brig "attacking" the Federal Atlantic Fleet could prevent the latter from disembarking a corps for fifteen days?

Thanks, Gents. You sure solved a mystery for me.

But what's the solution? Engage the enemy fleet first? But actually eliminating it might take literally months, and the embarked troops (!) are losing cohesion all the time. :bonk: Run away and try landing elsewhere?

Maybe separate your invasion fleet into a combat fleet and an escorted transport fleet?

Use evade combat on the fleet when your priority is to unload troops and not fight the enemy.
I guess its should give you a quiet high % chance of success :)

But if the simple presence of an enemy fleet in the sea area prevents disembarkation (that a word? :confused :) , it does so regardless of how I organize my own forces. Or?

You sure? It sounded as if the presence of an enemy fleet as such would prevent me from disembarking my troops. Does combat posture still make a difference?

For what i know its not the presence of enemy fleets, but the combat what triggers the "stop unloading" effect.
So if you try to not fight the enemy fleet (defensive posture and specially evade combat on) things should be Ok unless they find you.
Thats my guess at least

Yep, I'd say that's your best bet.
