Bombardment button ?

Sun Jul 12, 2009 1:56 pm

58.) Land Artillery "bombardment enable" button graphics and tooltips reworked.
a.) If the button is NOT pressed in, there is no bombardment of passing naval units.
b.) If the button is pressed in, there is a bombardment of passing naval units.

Just to understand what is going on there: in the tooltips there is written the exact opposite (click to NOT bombard).

No, I use english language.
Who should I believe, tips or 1.14 documentation ?

I enclose the game, look at the troops in Norfolk or at Magruder (VA).

This was the case BEFORE the official patch was released, also. It said - and still does - "click to NOT bombard". I, too, was somewhat confused when I read what the release of the official patch said. [as posted above]

So say I want to bombard:

-If on the icon there's no red stripe I HAVE to press it.
-If on the icon there's a red string I MUST NOT press it.

right ?

Just tested this in the 1862 scenario with Huger in Norfolk and the US fleet just offshore. Pushing the button IN does make Huger bombard, contrary to the tooltip. I also used Magruder just upstream with the button not pushed (default) and Magruder did NOT bombard.

@Pocus / Gray
IMHO this problem is less a "data discrepancy" and more like a bug that can mess a player's game. Many players do not know how/care/bother about Quickfixes, and I think that this deserves a 1.14ª official patch. Maybe in the necessary correction for the spanish version Ctd this should also be included

You misunderstood my intentions and are overreacting IMHO... Personally I am completely happy and confortable using quickfixes, beta patches, whatever. It was just a suggestion because this issue seems to me more important and relevant than for example the date of arrival of Marmaduke. As to your volunteer work, as I made perfectly clear, I am grateful, but I do not owe you nothing else as you also owe nothing to us players  .

Regards

Two sides North and South

I see just like the Civil War both sides are valid in thier perspectives. I hope we can avoid the War this time however :) Thank you Grey for all you do for this game.

As a player I also do not worry about hotfixs unless they are serious. I never download a new patch until it is "Official" I agree however this issue is just serious enough to make me use a hotfix. I have been playing wrong because I used the tooltip, granted I now know and will correct my play but I still consider this fix important.

As a consumer I understand I must wait sometimes. I know these things take time and I live with that understanding. So I think the pressure is self imposed with the hotfixes unless it is game critical. If not game critical I will wait for "Official" patch.

So I too see this as a patch I would like to see made "Official", and get asap, yet if not considered critical by you (Grey), I accept that also and will wait not finding it nessassary to pressure you for hotfixs for non-critical issues.

Just my humble opinion.

Thanks and hope I don't offend anyone.
