industry

I am playing with clovis fantastic mod. I this mod even union has problems with war supplies in first year so improving industry is a must. I am interested to know what are your experiences with medium and heavy industry As compared to light one. Where to apply them and is it worth the cost. Thanks in advance.

I don't find them wack

. Clovis mod did adress problem corect, at least for first year As I didn't play further. I am just interested in effects of industry. I salute yours and his efforts to make this game As historical As it can be

I have a quesrion about industry also, when ordered to build why isn't it always carried out? if its affordable why is it not followed through? workers on strike! I have to admit I've never paid attention to this, if it's not build do you still pay the cost, if so everybody's fired, GOSH DARN IT ANYWAY, sorry about that outburst.

By selecting the industry option for a state, you are increasing it's chances of increasing production. Whether any production occurs is based off a die roll (I'm not sure of the %'s but some of the more experience forumites might be able to get that for you). The states with better potential obviously are more likely to see actual production increases occur. You can also increase your odds by the level of production (light, medium, heavy), though you would need to balance heavier production with your return on investment. You also have no control over which city the increase would occur in. Hope that helps a little.

WSU numbers for 1861 and 1862 scenarios are all wrong. Union was rich and has a large industrial basis, but not to the point to get at once that much. About half of firearms were bought for the entire war in Europe. And the vaavl build of a large fleet was made at first by converting merchant vessels.
In current 1861 scenario, Union will never lack WSU. the 1862 nnumbers are just yet more highly fantaisist than the starting level. The same for CSA. Both sides has no real need to get WSU by naval means.
The same for men. If at start volunteering was current, from the first winter, desertion and epidemics depleted units. Both sides raised the next years new levees ( by conscription or with raised boounties, and from 1863 for USA by equipping Afroamerican Rgts) with freater difficulties. armies expanded but nt so much due to the losses. The 1862 pulls full units at start when most were undermanned...
I guess numbers to be lowered too for the 1862 and subsequent scenarios.

Thanks bburns9, i know its just a crap shoot, i do prefer to build light, in my experience i haven't seen enought overall consistant possitive results to warrant building medium or heavy,. i do play north so light industry is good enough for me anyway.

Yeah, I usually play the Union as well, and I've only done light, and then only in the front line states that I have relative control over to help ease supply difficulties (i.e. KY, TN). Usually by Late 1862 I have more $ than I know what to do with.

It is always a pleasure to see old AACW betas from 2 years ago still playing the game as any other player. Is it not the proof that AACW has 'something'?

I never stoped playing. It is just a matter of free time. Still enjoying it and sure I will enjoy it for many years to come
