Invade the North Through Canada I usually push into Michigan and upper state New York. You can also land a force at Boston or New York. The union should fold within a year :)

The europeans have an ungodly amount of built in replacements, so don't be afraid of using them for attrition to wear out the other side.

Watch out for the English I Corps (Royal Foosballers), led by Alfred Lord Tennyson and division commanders Charles Dickens and George Eliot (who for some reason only emerged from his tent fully dressed).

On English entry, the Union gets three additional outstanding division commanders: Herman Melville, Mark Twain, and Walt Whitman.

Prince,

I have used them from the North, combined with my armies already on the field, and as amphibious landings. It is pretty much up to you what you want to do with them. Most of the time the war is pretty much won by this time. Just think of them as the icing on the cake. :w00t:

Using the BEF for amphibious assaults is not without risks. During a campaign in which the Foreign Intervention triggered, I attempted to land the entire BEF at Boston to capture the city. Unfortunately a Federal naval squadron delayed the landing long enough for a scratch force of 40,000 Union troops to be rushed to meet them. The resulting bloodbath shattered the BEF and David Farragut's fleet soon made it impossible for the British to return to sea. Hemmed in between a strong defensive force and a powerful navy, the only choice was to try to march to safety in Canada. Then winter took hold in the region and the situation just went from bad to worse.

In hindsight, I think I would try another location that is less likely to be well-guarded. Maybe somewhere on the New Jersey or Delaware coast.

I tried to land in Delaware and got booted by a large Union Force. Second landing went better and I took New York with heavy loses. Got cocky with the Brits as I was winning handily at the time.
