Movement across ocean regions

Sat Mar 07, 2009 1:26 am

I'm not sure where to post this so picked here.

I am in a GC scenario April 1861 and it is early Oct 1861. I am attempting to move a force on transports to regions south of Hamptons Bay but when I plot to the region I want to go to it says I have 3044 days  to reach destination and then just quits the move altogether. The after messages saty that I am try ing to enter a region to shallow for entry...but I don't believe this to be true. It is ocean coast! Some of the ID regions are Virginian Coast ID#1455 and Pensecola Bay ID# 1432. Perhaps I don't understand some intricate dynamics of the game.

I have David Farragut as fleet commander. The forces to be transported are Meager(Irish BDE) and a division commanded by Howe of 18 elements. The fleet is composed of NY SQD (6 elements), Brooklyn, Monitor, Chesapeake Scout, NY Scouting SQD, John Adams, Vincennes Sqd, NE scouting Sqd, Cumberland, NE Sqd #1, Pawnee, and 4 transport sqds.

When I try to move the fleet with the force I cannot move it past Currituck Sound in one turn.

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Here is the saved game file.

EDIT!: I see one problem already...I have the Monitor included my fleet! It can't go into ocean waters!!! I'll try it without the Monitor in the fleet!

EDIT!: Yep, worked like a charm! Sorry for the needless post!
