Please forgive me if I missed these in the manual (or anywhere else):
1) When I click on a city I can change from military mode to construction mode...huh?
2) Sentry mode....huh?
Thanks!

1. I have no idea what you mean by construction mode? Never heard of such a thing.
2. You can put your units into sentry mode which gets them out of the ERTY sequence. With the latest version, you can have them on permanenty sentry (until you remove them from sentry), one turn or until they get to 95% strength.

Construction mode / military mode was added in a recent patch along with other code from a different project. Doesn't mean a thing. Nothing to worry about.

Well, That means I have to lay off all those construction workers I hired thereby causing a housing meltdown leading to a recession and calls for a bailout I cant afford! Thanks!

How does ERTYwork? Doesn't it bounce around? It seems to me more efficient to do things by theatre. I usually rank each theatre by importance and work my way down. I hate allocating rail/naval assets in some perfect plan and later realize, well heck, he's about to capture my depot so I have to scrap that plan i spent 45 minutes perfecting. Flying all over the place just seems a tad schizo to me. Of course, maybe that's not what ERTY does at all in which case, please ignore this babbling fool.

My checklist:
- Quick overview of trouble spots using jump map.
- Go through all non-movement messages first, assign orders.
- Check selected movement messages, assign orders.
- Save the turn, turn off the game, go do something else.
- Come back, start game, load turn.
- Think about what I did before.
- Check for missed units using ERTY, assign orders.
- Make any changes to earlier orders.
I didn't use to go through all that, but then I played Runyan twice (I couldn't afford to miss anything).

They're keyboard commands
E key - go to next unsentried land unit with no orders
R key - go to last unsentried land unit with no orders
T key - go to next unsentried naval unit with no orders
Y key - go to last unsentried naval unit with no orders
Designations of next and last are somewhat arbitrary - hence Daxil's comment about flying all over, and my reason for using them only after I've already given most orders.

Q/W cycles through fixed units. (E/R skip these.)

Nice to see. Sometimes you might need to change stance, or move them in or out of a city, especially the first few turns of the game.

What would be perfect is an officer sort function like the ERTY as well as a unit sort, know what I mean?
