Across several patches, I've always been curious about the actual effect of blockade on NM and VP. This screen seems to imply additions to both:
...while this screen seems to imply subtractions from both:
What am I missing?
P.S. Just had a bit of a problem with the local HQ unit. She wandered into my region, heard me singing along with one of the tunes, and remarked, "You're living in the past." She just doesn't get it.

The negative in the planned balance means that you will gain 1 NM and 15 VP.

When you loose 1 MN, the system shows 1 on the variation ...
so when you will gain 1 point of MN --> -1 on the system
- 1 on a loss means a gain in Mathematics

Indeed! But a situation arose just two hours later that you'll all want to hear about. I caught her watching the John Wayne movie about the Alamo. So I couldn't resist quoting her own words back to her: "You're living in the past." She tried to recover by claiming that "at least it's the more recent past." Naturally, I zoomed right in on that one, reminding her that the Alamo is further in the past than the ACW. Of course, we all know that any battle we win with our spouses is always of the Pyrrhic kind!
P.S. Thanks for the explanation of the double-negative mathematics.

I had explained the mathematics since I had no clue on how to deal with the other "problem"
