1863 Scenario - Union

Fri Aug 29, 2008 12:22 am

Played a number of the 1861 and 1862 scenarios so I thought I'd try out the 1863 one. Ok - I think I understand the supply engine enough to ask what the devil do I do with Grant? There's no river or land route to him (yeah I know it's historical) so his corps are going to be super low if not out of supply real quick - maybe in a few turns - and that's with the riverine transports and wagons there already. Building a depot won't help much it appears either. Cross straight away and lay siege to Vicksburg? Cross to the south of Vicksburg and go for Jackson (as was done historically)? Bide my time and use the forces to the north and south to open up a land route and then go for Vicksburg? This one has me stymied.

I don't know if this helps but you don't have to build depots in cities.
You can build them anywhere.
Maybe build a depot above Vicksburg in Providence and then one below?
Then move your navel units below to allow you to cross.
Then you can cross the Mig Muddy.
