Hello all

i am quite new to this game so sorry for this newbie question.

I read in the after turn log that one of my divisions is only partially active because i couldnt pay the administrative costs. what exactly are these costs? i couldnt find anything in the manual

The administrative costs are the costs you pay when you form a division (actualy when you make a leader able to command a division). The costs are $10, 1 conscript and 5 (?) war supply.

The costs are calculated at the end of the turn. If you come up short (especially playing the south this can happen), your division(s) wont operate at maximum efficiency, and you can not form new divisions till the costs are paid (that is, til you have enough money etc. left at the end of the turn to pay the costs).

I'm pretty sure on one of the last patches the "at turns end cost calcualtion" issue for divisions was solved/changed.
So now as you form divisions the costs are subtracted form your $, wars supplies and conscripts pools at once, just the same that happens with any unit/replacement buys.
That's good because it let you know how much resources you have left at any moment without having to count for what you spent on divisions.

Gourmand, do you play with the game patched up to date?
Its very recommended to update the game if you haven't done. Lots of fixes and goodies are included on each patch.
