Hi Folks, it came to my late attention in my PBEM game with Gene that my loyalty in Richmond (Late 1862) had dropped to 56%. Gene has played a decent game and taken some strategic towns but the loyalty drop seemed very odd considering it is the capital and all other nearby regions have a loyalty of around 85%.
I thought that this might be due to the fact that I had placed Thomas C. Hindman there. Not really knowing what to do with him I put him in Richmond without a command because of his patriot trait + he was near to the action should I need a commander in a hurry. He also has the occupier trait and I'm now very suspicious that this is the reason for the drop in loyalty in Richmond.
I moved him to Burkeville and sure enough the next turn the Burekeville region suffered a 5% drop in loyalty (this was not reported though and I only saw one report of a loyalty drop in Richmond in the past few months). Unfortunately I think it will be a long time before Richmond rallies to the cause once more - they are still at 56%.
Surely a leader like this should not be so poisonous to the loyalty of friendly regions?
I'm now trying to move him as quickly as possible into a stack where he is not
a senior commander in the hope his trail of despair will come to an end.
But the damage has been done!
Has anyone else noticed any effects like this? Could I be wrong about this
as I'm surprised I haven't seen it mentioned?
Cheers, Chris
