* Some algorithms are not 'visible'. Supply flow is not displayed, although, with some patience and eyeballs, you can infer how things are going. The Supply map filter is invaluable for this.
* Rivers, rivers...without looking things up, AFAIK, if you have a garrisoned Fort or an entrenched 5+ position on the river, that cuts Supply to hostile forces.
* But rivers are tricky. I hate to say it, but... I think Athena cheats sometimes. I swear I've seen CSA forces merrily swimming upstream on ice floes that my six Ironclad, four Gunboat, two TP Fleet under Porter can't interdict because it's Frozen.
* Still, the best way to argue about things is to put a fleet there. Even then, the oppo may Evade. The best results I've seen are 'sealing' shores against river crossings by undesirables.
