In this case it's QuickFix4 and contains all the previous QuickFix files for v1.13b. Just install it over the current v1.13b installation. It does not matter what Quickfix you had loaded previously AND it can be applied without having to reinstall the Kentucky Add-On files...(the files contained therein are mutually exclusive from the Kentucky Add-on files)

Hi Gray!
Have you seen this thread??

Could this be the odd placement of leaders problem happening too with the USA??

Another duplicate generals quirk... in the 1862 campaign, Rufus King shows up with the Iron Brigade in September 1862 in the west. Problem is, he already exists as a divisional commander in McClellan's army from the beginning.

New: AACW v1.13b QuickFix6

Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:20 pm

Here we go... QuickFix6... Ta Da... (Gray_Lensman takes a formal bow as the forumites cheer for an encore.) :D

p.s. Starting today, I'm on vacation for a couple weeks, hence the fun and games attitude.

As always, this fix contains all the previous QuickFix files for v1.13b and this one also fixes the duplicate general (Rufus King) discrepancy. The (later) IronBrigade (there are actually 2), will now show up with Brig. Gen. J. Gibbon assigned as the leader. (No unit counter for a Brig. Gen).

thx gray...
did you see my other thing about times when a stack with sufficient command points is weaker than the sum of its unit strengths? it's really weird. i don't have a screenshot or anything, but since it usually happens with Robert Patterson, it won't be too hard to redo.

edit: oh, and did you guys ever fix the quirk in the 1863 and 1864 scenarios where the "new brig gens have been appointed" event fires even though all the generals already exist?

enf91: First, thanks for the wiki link on the generals. It helped me update the generals list with some bio info.

In regards to the situation with Patterson, his Overcautious ability may be the reason. This reduces his command points by 1 I believe.

That isn't what I'm talking about. I had a great screen to show what I mean, but my laptop doesn't take screenshots. What I was talking about is a situation where, say, a corps would have a 0% command penalty and 3 divisions of 312, 298, and 259 strength (sum=869), but the summary line says, for example, "12th Corps, 5 units, strength: 850".

There was something else I was thinking of. Some regiments or brigades were heavily Irish or German. The reason this is significant is that I saw something on the History Channel that said that one Union corps, which was heavily German, fought less effectively during that battle because Franz Sigel, a German, had been replaced by an Irishman.

Gray_Lensman wrote:Though it sounds definitive, you'd have to be more specific then this if it is occuring in the latest version of the game. I've not had any reports of it, so I can't say it still exists or not. Not to many people play the later campaign scenarios I suspect, so it's possible it still exists, let me know if you run across it.

edit> A quick glance at the DB files and it does appear to be a possibility due to some faulty date overlaps. I just eliminated that problem so that the event fires prior to the start of the 1863 scenario (if playing earlier campaign scenarios). If an 1863 scenario is started (1863/03/15), the event will not fire now since it's MaxDate has been adjusted to (1863/03/01). It was 1863/12/31. As far as I can tell there has never been a '64 Officer's pool event for the USA. There is one for the CSA.

QuickFix7 (another vacation quickie)

As always, this fix contains all the previous QuickFix files for v1.13b and this one also fixes the duplicate general 1863 General officer's pool bug if playing the 1863 Campaign scenario.

Something else with the 1863 campaign... the Lightning Mule Brigade, with Abel Straight as its leader, exists at the beginning of the game. However, the event still fires the next turn, creating a duplicate Lightning Mule Brigade.

I almost forgot... there is a duplicate generals quirk in the 1864 campaign. John Newton starts as a staff officer in the Army of the Potomac but is also in Tennessee with Sherman.

Ships in blockade/trading boxes: where do the weapons and the money go?

Sun Apr 05, 2009 8:35 pm

Dear all,

I am playing a pbem as CSA under patch 1.13b.
I have several boats in the blocake/trading boxes, i am advised that they bring money and weapons... but I do not see those figures increasing my inventory.
I start a turn with the exact amount of previous turn forecasted money and weapons.

Is it a bug? Have you noticed something similar?

Multilingual Bombard Text

Wed Apr 22, 2009 2:54 pm

[1.13b QF9]
The tooltip text is only fixed in the "English" language.

Attached corrected multilingual texts in XLS for strSpecToLandBombard (A1:C1) and strSpecLandBombard (A2:B2), given the default to not bombard, press the button to bombard.

Also attached as a Notepad TXT file, I suspect this is the proper way to do things and that Excel is messing up the string formats.

I can't get a Russian font to work on the CSV file in Excel or Notepad so I can't check the Russian text. Anyone know how to set up for this? I have a dual language keyboard/font arrangement but it doesn't work on this file.

I can't save the full CSV file from Excel 2007 without causing a fatal corruption, some kind of formatting problem on the Save As command, I don't know the right editor to use.

The text could be cut'n'pasted into the QF9 version of LocalStrings_AGE.csv given the right editor.

[Edit - XLS file removed as it does mess up the string format]

[The extension txt has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

Hi GL, posting worked ok - it was editing and saving the CSV file from Excel 2007 that failed.

Doing "Save As CSV" to save the CSV after edit came with a warning that features of the original file format may be lost: once I'd done the save and started the game, the game crashed.

That's why I think the TXT file may be better to use than the XLS, which splits the text between 2 or 3 cells (wrongly?), while in the TXT they are kept as a single string.

What is the 'right' editor for the CSV file, out of interest?

Thank you for the link - I was using Excel 2007 which is a complete dog's breakfast anyway, I'll stick with Notepad and try out OpenOffice as well.

New: AACW v1.13b QuickFix9(a)

Wed Apr 22, 2009 7:47 pm

Reposted AACW v1.13b QuickFix9 as AACW v1.13b QuickFix9(a).

The difference is additional "French" support (thanks to Chertio's help  )for the bombardment change posted above. For those "English" language installations, it will not be necessary to redownload the QuickFix. The other languages (other than French or English) default to the corrected English change. Those using the French language installation should download and use the new QuickFix9(a)

New: AACW v1.13b QuickFix11

Sat May 02, 2009 8:35 pm

Here's a new QuickFix that fixes several event scripting errors when playing the 1862 East Campaign Scenario. As usual, this QuickFix contains all the previous QuickFixes for v.1.13b in addition to this new rework.
