British Cavalry Regiments Nicknames - AWI

Due to the perceived unsuitability of the North American terrain for cavalry operations, only two cavalry regiments were sent to America.

16th Regiment of Light Dragoons "The Queen's"
Named in honour of Rgt sponsor, Queen Charlotte.

17th Regiment of Light Dragoons "The Death or Glory Boys"
Rgt cap badge was a death head with the motto 'or Glory'
