New game engine title?

Wed Nov 29, 2017 2:25 pm

Curious when we will see a title using the new game engine, and if you can reveal... what the subject matter will be?

We are not allowed to discuss it right now, the Marketing guys plan to make an announcement sometimes at the beginning of next year.

Marketing guys should be shot, for one of two reasons :
- Either because they are responsible for lack of transparency, withering the link between a developper and its potential customers.
- Or because they are the convenient scapegoats for delayed developments and difficulties in the studio, in which case this is what scapegoats are for anyway.

Hi guys,

We are not revealing any details simply because we are not at that stage yet.

We feel we have a solid design with some neat ideas (if I may so myself), and we are very excited to work on this project. But, surely you understand it would not be helpful to talk about, or show, things that might still change.

However, we ARE getting close to putting everything in final shape that is needed to present our newest baby to you. As Philippe mentioned, we only need a little more patience from you.

French guys who make some of the best early American war games; How can you not name the new engine 'Lafayette'?

On his return to America, us Americans named just about everything after him. I drove over his bridge yesterday (where St. Paul was on the right side of the river..) So why not continue the tradition and name a game engine after him? Sounds good to me in my 'murican bias.

Hello.

I am currently in the process of buying a new laptop. It would be really helpful to know if the system I plan on getting will be sufficient for the new generation of AGEOD games. Can you give out such info? Surely this is not confidential.

Anyway, I plan on getting this:
Intel i5 7200U processor (7th gen Intel)
8 GB DDR3 RAM

Integrated GPU - Intel HD graphics 620

So, what do you think? Will this be OK for smooth gameplay?

It won't be great, probably ok-ish. The problem is the graphic card, this is not a gaming card, but a graphic chipset, good for maximizing battery life and doing internet or word processor.

Hmm... not exactly encouraging.

For what it's worth, I played Thirty Years War on a Atom Z8300, with 2 GB RAM, and integrated GPU, which is across the board a much much weaker configuration than the i5 7200. It wasn't exactly smooth, but it worked.

I was sure that this upgraded configurated would have no problems with AGEOD games.

Just for reference, this configuration can run Skyrim in 1440 x 900 with 40-50 fps. Or GTA V in 1280x800 with around 20 fps. It gets 30 fps in World of tanks at 1024x768 and 20 fps at 1280 x 800.

Surely in the new AGEOD game I can get 1440 x 900 or similar resolution at decent 40-50ish framerate?

No panzers please, there are already many and good games about the WWII era.

I prefer a period that has not yet been treated by an Ageod game like the hundred years war (1337-1453), the French Revolutionary Wars (1792-1802) with the general Bonaparte or, why not, the French Wars of Religion (1562-1598).

The choice is very wide.

from what you say, it should then be ok with this config. But not great either, just ok.
