A request to the Ageod Community (new game topic revealed inside!)

hi gents!

Here over at Ageod we are working hard to bring you new games and to support existing titles. Some of you are already actively involved in helping us by reporting bugs and suggesting changes and balances. This time however, we ask your input for something else!
We are currently working a new game based on the AGE engine, that is focused on the ... Great War!. We already got the needed historical data, most of the leader portraits, required rule adjustments and the map, but we lack one of the most important elements of every game: a game title.

Because many of the more obvious titles are either already in use or otherwise copyrighted, we nailed the choice down to these two titles:

 • Price of Glory
 • To End all Wars
Now we are offering you the opportunity to decide on the title for our upcoming game. By voting on the poll above you can make your voice be heard. Don’t hesitate and tell us what you think our World War I game should be called!
If you not only vote for the poll, but also leave a comment here stating what name you voted for, you will also have a chance to win a free copy of the game!
This poll will be open until the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] of April. We will announce the winner once the poll is closed.
Good luck everyone!

I vote for " Price of Glory". But I get a message telling me that I cannot vote on this poll.

Nevertheless, the topic is exciting, and I will be eager to buy it!

Ah, wunderbar! I could never get WW1 Gold to run well on my laptop, so I hope an AGE engine Great War title will be just the ticket.

It's not letting me vote right now but I'd go with To End All Wars. Price of Glory is catchy but sounds too... preachy, or like a game show, whereas To End All Wars evokes a more proper proportion of awe, determintion, and of course the bitter irony, which befits a WW1 game.

Good news! This is a good way to commemorate the events and to reach more audience by the celebrations of the anniversary.

"Price of Glory" is a good title but it doesn't make clear the subject of the game. "To end all wars" is a good reference to the great war and will be a good name for this game.

My vote goes to "The end of all wars", is how WWI is described when somebody want talk respectfully about it, i dont remember read a book about WWI where you cant read it, specially if the book talks about first months of the war.

I think other good title could be "Blood and trenches, the death of an era" maybe i allways see WWI like the end of XIX century and the start of XX century 3 great empires dissapear and the new "empires" start their way with a first step in WWI... Europe was very damage by war, many old institutions lose their power and in the end after war you can recognize more society with less rigid traditions.

Maybe main question for me is how engine can deal with WWI linear fronts... i feel in Spanish Civil war the engine doesnt cover this very well... maybe new features to mantein a fixed front???.

Price of Glory most definitely, although What Price Glory might even be better:

Great choice for a game! Any developer diaries surely would be appriciated. As well as an equal spread of infos between Ageod, Matrix and Slitherine forums.

As for the name of the game:
Price of Glory could mean every pre-post-heroic conflict right down to the Trojan War.

But To end all Wars definitely points to WW1. I could get used to TEAW...

Best regards

Don't mean to throw a spanner in the works, but "To End All Wars" is the title of a DH mod. I doubt that it's been copyrighted but it wouldn't hurt to check. Should you find that it is unavailable, might I suggest "A Damn Fool Thing in the Balkans" as a replacement.

For some reason I "may not vote on this poll".

To End All Wars gets my vote even though I have been officially disenfranchised.

Thanks for fixing the poll and providing the opportunity for input; my vote still went to To End All Wars. The idea that the concept of glory applies in any way, shape or form to the Great War just rubs the wrong way despite Alistair Horne's riveting book using the other option as a title.

Voted for To End all Wars, most appropriate for a World War 1 Game. Purchased World War One Gold and was learning my way around. Now it looks like there will be a World War 1 game with Ageod engine. (Curse you Ageod - must have it - curse you)

I guess Home Before the Leaves Fall isn't on the table.

I chose Price of Glory as that term really reminds me of Stanley Kubrick's "Paths of Glory".

I think the term suits the time period with many volunteers signing up in the early days of the way trying to seek adventure and glory before what they thought was going to be a quick war ended.

'To End All Wars' gets my vote too. I'm looking forward to reading about this new title later in May. I've already got The Great War 1914-18 game and will be interested to see just how different it will be from that title. I'm hoping for something more PON-like here but whatever it is, I'll be interested.

Price of Glory seems more like a game title to me.

I had a look through some poetry and book titles but didn't come up with much. Empires of the Dead might attract the zombie gaming crowd :)

Great to see a WW1 title coming - I look forward to hearing more :)

I chose Price of Glory as I think it has more of the sound of a game title.

To end all wars for me.

This is exciting though, can't wait for it, I couldn't get into the original (I'm to used to these simple Paradox games) but I have high hopes i'll try harder with this.
