Friendly dinner between players and team (in Lyon, France)

Hi all,
We thought about how cool that would be to chat with players about the games we love (and others things of interest). So here is a friendly proposal, a dinner (at a restaurant) between ourselves. Everybody is free to join, but please fill up this doodle calendar, so we can guess estimate people accurately (or we can't book the restaurant efficiently and that would not be cool to end up in a fast food!)
http://doodle.com/7fse79cmhp8kt5gq#tableDate will be either Friday 26, October or Friday 23, November.
We understand that given the location, most people will be French, but everybody is quite welcome (c'est donc un peu étrange de toute écrire en Anglais

).
It would be wise also that people that travel a long distance stay at night and not return by car at their home (if you can catch a train, that's a different story). We can also provide them the address of a nearby (and cheap) hotel. Facility wise, perhaps some of us living in Lyon can host a few players overnight, but this will need some further thinking (volunteers can step in).
For now, the point of meeting is fixed at the plazza before the railway station 'Gare de la Part Dieu', where there is also quite conveniently several restaurants and hotels.

What a pity, Lyon is a bit out-of-the way for me...

But if you ever pass through Lisbon, be sure to make a call !

What about Cádiz, the oldest city in Europe?

From Paris, but I could go to Lyon. Or London, for that matter.

no problem with the location, rather not the time. can we shift it for 350 days, the next Marathon du Médoc...

Unfortunately, Lyon is several hundred kilometers too far away...

For now we are cancelling the event and perhaps reschedule later, in Paris, Lyon or another city (Nuuk is also being considered)

I assume based on prior comments that San Francisco would be a bit too far as well ?

What a shame, I guess I can't make it.

Can I just drop by in Meylan next time I drive down that way? Almost did so last year but didn't want to interrupt some important coding or accidentally catch you playing Total War.

Well, Pocus lives and works in Lyon, and I am in Meylan (next to Grenoble, 90km to the east...)

I spent the night at Lalley south of Grenoble, but decided not to ambush you.
Actually I think you are being too civilised and French in trying to arrange a dinner. It requires organisation and commitment. Why not be more English and just say you'll be in so and so bar on Friday and you'll by a drink for anybody who wants to talk about wargames.
Or Scottish, promise six pints of lager followed by a kebab and a fight.

I care for such info a lot. I was seeking this certain information for a long time. Thank you and best of luck. best wishes
I would have sworn that a few hours ago this user had posted something similar to this in another subforum. I think this post has no sense... Could it be some kind of spam??

Probably not spam, just poorly worded.

Everyday a dozen people are registering in the forum with very weird nicknames. Perhaps this is related.

Definitely spam, but I do not understand what the purpose...? Maybe post a few "harmless" posts to escape detection first then post one with links ??

Thank you. As a mediterranean I suppose joke is catched.
But definitely, immediately and urgently there should be moderator action required for cultural halloween food posted in these threads. It tastes even worse than a spam or even worse than an oiled body !!!.

Well, I planned to go to Lyon to visit over a week-end, GF in tow - so I can as well make it at the same time as a "AGEOD meeting". GFie will either see what we all look like or do whatever it is that women do when alone in a city with a wallet.
