Steam Greenlight

Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:40 am

http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/

In short, any developer can leave description of a game and anyone can vote for it. Steam then sells games to broad audience using all sorts of services and payment system, allowing fans like me to buy games that aren't available in my region.

I think it would be nice if someone in AGEOD do it and make sticky thread in every forum.

Yes, great. Noted that this service won't open before late August anyway

Good news. In fact, some Europeans already did projects with KS using a subsidiary in the USA...I have noticed at least to UK Boardgame companies which opened a branch in USA for that purpose...

There are various crowd sourcing funding routes, some operate already in the UK. My own company Equity Ventures (http://www.equityventures.co.uk) only does later stage fundings and buy-outs. I'm not sure what the "business angel" sourcing in France is like.

I think you need a rich "patron" who will fund you because he's an armchair strategist. Perhaps you should spend the winter hanging round the bars at ski resorts looking for people who look a bit pissed off by the company their wife or mistress seems to delight in keeping.

Actually, Geneva and the hedge fund and private office people are probably a better bet.

Funny ideas about the ski resorts boredom...Courchevel (home of Russian wintering millionaires) and Mégève (same for Saudis) are not far away from here... :mdr:

Joke aside, we did have some business angles in the company...to be honest, that was a nightmare, we lost hours of efficiency in 's...' financial reports and constraints, and the company was almost gone when they realized they would run at a loss and withdrew before second round of funding... won't try these people again...KS is better IMHO

So will AGEOD games be added so that I can give "greenlight" or something?

Yes, I am planning to put AJE tonight there, if I can manage that. The other games will follow once I know how to do that...
