Be aware of fees for purchases

I don't know if the Phil's (or any other company personnel) are aware of this, but current and potential customers should be aware:

For US customers at least, since the AGEod company is located in France purchases from the US will likely incur a small fee. I amde a recent purchase and, separate and in addition to the normal charge for the game (which included VAT, by the way), I was also charged a separate ($0.75, in my case) fee which shows as "INTERNATIONAL POS FEE VIS 1031 FR" in my statement.

I don't know where the fee is coming from exactly, but there's certainly nothing mentioned about it during the purchasing process on this web site (that I can remember, at least... the VAT tax is clearly explained, but this is obviously something separate from that).

Some CCs charge a fee if the charge is processed overseas, even if it is in your CC currency, i.e. USD. It's in the CC fine print no doubt.

I do not believe that you are correct in stating that US customers pay VAT. This can be seen in the purchase price from various countries.

For PoN, in the US the cost is 19.99 USD, in UK the cost is 14.99 GBP and in Europe the cost is 19.99 EUR. Converting the costs all to USD shows the prices to be:

USA - 19.99
UK - 24.10
Europe- 27.53

The differences between UK/Eur and the US has to be due primarily to VAT.

The only things that are certain are death and taxes...
:)

anyway, I can assure you that I was charged VAT. The price was $19.99, + $3.92 VAT, for a total of $23.91. All in US currency.

The main point here is that for US customers your bank or credit card will very likely charge an additional fee for any purchases from AGEod, unfortunately.

This can happen if you identify your country of origin as UK instead of USA.

Some websites "ask" for this identification. Some are supposedly testing for it. USA should NOT pay VAT, last I knew....
